Why should I use a pet waste removal service?

Pet waste that is not removed routinely can present health hazards for both your family and your pets.  Dog poop can contain parasites and diseases which can remain in your yard for months or even years if not properly cleaned up.  Excessive poop accumulation can attract flies and other insects to your yard, making it a place that neither your children nor your pets want to play.  By having your dog's poop scooped up on a weekly basis, you are helping to provide a clean and healthy environment for everyone in your household.

Are there any contracts to sign?

No.  There is no long-term commitment or contract to sign.  Upon our initial visit, we will ask you to sign a service agreement which gives us permission to be on your property while you are not home.  We will also ask you to sign a simple payment authorization in which you agree to pay for services which have been rendered.

Can my pet be in the yard while services are performed?

In most cases, yes.  We love dogs and enjoy having a furry helper during cleanup.  We will assess the temperament of your dog on our first visit and ask that you restrain or confine dogs that are known to be aggressive or overprotective during the time of your scheduled visit.  If for some reason your pet will not allow our specialist into the yard for cleanup, we will contact you promptly and reschedule for a day when your pet can be restrained.

Our Scooper Specialists carry Milkbone dog treats to offer your dog.  Please let us know if your pet has dietary restrictions and cannot have Milkbones.

Should I unlock my gate?

Yes.  Our Scooper Specialists are not allowed to climb over or jump fences.  Please be sure the gate is unlocked, that we know where the key is located, or that we know the code for entry.  If our specialists are not able to enter your yard because of a locked gate, you will still be charged your regular rate for the week even though services were not performed.

Will you work through the winter?  What about holidays?

Much like the post office, we work in rain, sleet, heat and snow.  Heavy, persistent rainfall or extreme hot/cold temperatures may postpone or halt service for a few days.  In the event that your regularly scheduled pickup is delayed, we will contact you immediately and make every effort to make up the missed visit later in the week.

If a service day falls on a holiday, we will usually be out the following day to resume service. Your service will return to its regularly scheduled day the next week.

I'm going on vacation and won't be home for a week.  What should I do?

In the event that your family and pets will be absent from your home for several days and no waste will be accumulating, please let us know.  We are happy to suspend service until you return as long as you give us at least 48 hours notice.

Miscellaneous

  • Scooper Heroes clients are billed on the first day of the month for the previous month's services.

  • Payment is expected no later than the 15th of the month.  A late fee of $15.00 will be added to the balance owed if payment has not been received by the due date. 

  • We reserve the right to suspend service if payment is more than 30 days past due.  An initial cleanup fee will be charged to resume service once the account balance has been paid.

  • Our weekly rates are based on a regularly maintained yard and our Scooper Specialists should spend an average of 15 - 20 minutes at your home.  If for some reason there is an excessive accumulation of pet waste and the Specialist has to stay longer, an additional charge may be applied to your monthly bill. 

  • It is possible to skip service for a week or two if the need arises but additional charges may apply if excessive waste builds up during our absence.

  • The employees of Scooper Heroes are avid animal lovers and will not tolerate abused or neglected animals.  If there are obvious signs of abuse, malnourishment, unattended injuries or neglect we reserve the right to discontinue service at any time.

  • We strive to provide you with excellent customer service and to leave your yard clean and poop-free on a weekly basis.  If for any reason you are unsatisfied with our service, please send us an email or call the office and we will do what we can to rectify the situation the next business day at no additional cost to you.
